Hyaline grass bugs - Liorhyssus hyalinus
I've never seen these before.
I found them emerging from some Musk Mallow seed pods.
Sweet little things of varying sizes with interesting spots on their bums 😊
The largest are only about 5mm and I realise they're not the prettiest thing but we welcome any new species to our garden 💖
These have been here a few days and are reluctant to leave the Mallow or their family group and I think I can see some empty skins so I'm wondering whether they're growing and shedding their skins and won't move on until they're a bit bigger?
There's very technical information available on their appearance but I can't seem to find any info. on what they get up to. What do they do? Where will they go?
Wish I knew 😂
