About me
Hi,
I'm Jane and after a soul destroying 30 years or so in an office, I tried my hand at various things including several different crafts and mosaics, all the while having a love of the natural world and preferring to be outside.
We lived for a while in Norfolk, where we had a largish garden and I grew plants, mainly herbs and wildflowers which I sold at various events until a major change in our circumstances, (thanks Brexit 😠).
A move to beautiful Dumfries and Galloway followed, and I now sell seeds rather than plants.
I grow as many of these as I can here in our village garden focusing on plants that are beneficial to wildlife, mainly pollinators but also bats, birds, small mammals etc.

Who’s Jemima?
Jemima was my great great grandmother. Born in 1848 to Sarah and Eli Baigent in the Chertsey area of Surrey.
Family legend has it that Jemima was a healer although exactly what methods she used isn’t recorded.
My mum remembered her donning a big black cloak and going out to visit people who were ill.
An interest in plants and gardening has been passed down the family and I like to think this came from Jemima and that her garden was full of healing plants.
This is Jemima in her later years outside a long since demolished cottage in either Addlestone or Ottershaw, Surrey.
