Where to sow: Outside, direct into soil or into modules or pots. The seeds need a period of cold before they will germinate well. You may get a few seedlings from a mid-summer sowing.

Marsh-mallow is a tall plant with soft grey-green leaves and very pretty pale pink flowers from mid-summer into autumn. 

It is a very good plant for a damp position in sun or partial shade.

Marsh-mallow attracts bees, hoverflies and some moths.
