Also known as Garden burnet and Toper's plant, Salad Burnet is a hardy wildflower or culinary herb.

The unusual globular flowerheads have female flowers at the top and lower down, male flowers with long stamens.

The leaves have a mild cucumber flavour and can be used in salads.

Salad Burnet attracts / provides food for the following creatures:

  • Butterflies such as Grizzled Skipper butterfly 🐛 
  • Moths including Fox Moth 🐛 and Scarce Forester moth 🦋
  • An "RHS Plants for Pollinators" plant **
