Flowering Time: From summer into autumn
Site and soil type: Prefers well drained soil in full sun
When to sow: Spring or early autumn
Where to sow: Outside, direct into soil. Inside, into biodegradable pots

Cornflowers have soft green leaves with sky blue flowers. Although the flowers are fairly short-lived new ones continually open all summer and into the autumn.

Also known as Blue Bonnets, Witches’ Bells and Bluets, cornflowers are loved by bees and butterflies.
