Also known as Adderwort, Viper's grass and Cat's tail, Viper's Bugloss is an upright plant with bristly stems, hairy leaves and bright blue flowers in summer.

In the first year it produces a flattish rosette of leaves with flowers appearing in the second year. The plant will die after flowering but will often self seed and produce new plants the following spring.

Viper's Bugloss provides nectar and pollen for various species of bees, moths and butterflies.

Warning: Not edible, may cause stomach upset if ingested and contact with foliage my cause skin irritation, (wearing gloves recommended when handling).
