Columbine is a pretty plant with various varieties common in gardens.

This is the true wild form with purplish blue flowers with hooked spurs in summer. 

It is found in various sites in the wild but most often in woodland clearings and prefers partial shade.

 Columbine provides food for bumblebees and is an "RHS Plants for Pollinators" plant **
