Other names of Lady's Bedstraw include bed flower, maid's hair, rennet weed, (it has been used to replace animal rennet in cheese-making), hundred fold and pretty mugget.

A perennial grassland wildflower with a sprawling habit and frothy golden-yellow honey-scented flowers,  Lady’s Bedstraw smells like new mown hay when dried and was previously used for stuffing mattresses.

Lady’s Bedstraw provides food for the following creatures: 

  • Provides nectar for bumblebees and solitary bees including Northern Colletes, (Colletes floralis), a species of mining bee.
