Lovage is a tall plant with celery flavoured leaves and yellow clusters of flowers in summer.

It can be used to flavour stews and soups and the young leaves can be used in salads, (use sparingly as lovage has quite a strong flavour).

The taste of the leaves can be more bitter after the plant has flowered.

The flowers are very popular with pollinating insects.

Lovage provides food for the following creatures:

  • Solitary bees
  • Hoverflies
  • Wasps
  • Soldier beetles ( AKA Hogweed Bonking Beetles - aphid eaters)

All our seed packets include sowing instructions.

Jemima’s Garden seeds are plastic free and reyclable. They’re contained in an inner glassine envelope, (made from pine wood cellulose), and an outer Kraft paper seed packet. Any shipping packaging is also plastic free and recyclable.
