Foxgloves are well-known tall wild plants with purple bell flowers, (occasionally white).

Very popular with bumblebees not only as a source of pollen but also to use as an overnight roosting place.

Often found in woodland and will tolerate some shade but will happily grow in other sites.

Warning: All parts of the plant are poisonous.

Foxgloves provide food for the following wild creatures:

  • Long-tongued bumblebees
  • butterflies such as the Heath Fritillary butterfly πŸ› 
  • moths including Foxglove Pug moth πŸ›, Frosted Orange moth πŸ›, Large Yellow Underwing moth πŸ›
