Chives - Allium schoenoprasum

Site and soil type: Prefers rich moist soil in sun by will tolerate most soils and conditions.
Uses: Culinary
Care: Frequent cutting of leaves encourages new fresh growth.
Plant size: Grown in a 10cm pot and ready to plant in your garden
Mild onion flavoured grass-like leaves with very pretty (edible) purplish/pink globe flowers.
Fresh chopped leaves can be added to salads, sauces, omelettes etc. wherever a mild onion flavour is required.
The flowers are very attractive to bumble bees.
Peat-free, pesticide-free, plastic-free.
All plants are sent to you in an eco-friendly cardboard POSIpot or fibre pot, (made from wood pulp), together with a wooden ID label and care instructions. In both cases these can be planted straight into the ground in the pot which will biodegrade.
