Lovage Seeds - Levisticum officinale
Lovage - Levisticum officinale
Type: Hardy Perennial
Approximate height: 2 m
Flowering time: Summer
Site and soil type: Prefers a well drained rich moist soil in sun or partial shade.
When to sow: Spring
A tall plant with celery flavoured leaves and yellow clusters of flowers in summer.
The flowers are very popular with pollinating insects and are especially favoured by aphid eating Hogweed Bonking Beetles.
Can be used to flavour stews and soups and the young leaves can be used in salads, (use sparingly as lovage has quite a strong flavour).
Sow in spring in either seed trays or small pots and sprinkle just enough compost over the seeds to cover them and keep moist at about 20°C. Prick out into larger pots and transplant into the garden when large enough.
Contents: Approximately 130 / 0.35 g
