Coriander – ‘Slobolt’ - Coriandrum sativum


Type: Annual

Approximate height: 60 cm

Flowering time: Summer

Site and soil type: Well drained fertile soil in sun or semi shade.

When to sow: Spring and summer


Coriander has small flat umbels of white or reddish flowers from mid-summer to early autumn. The leaves and seeds are used widely in Middle Eastern and Indian cuisine.


Sow direct into open ground, (or large pots), from mid-spring onwards throughout summer. Successive sowings are recommended. Slobolt is a variety which is resistant to running to seed.

Can also be sown indoors in pots all year round.
