Site and soil type: Prefers light but moist soil in sun or semi shade.
When to sow: Spring
Sweet smelling plant with pale green delicate leaves and umbels of white flowers in early summer.
Good herb to use in omelettes, soups and vegetable dishes.
Sow in March or April into biodegradable pots in an unheated greenhouse for planting out when grown or direct into the growing site in late spring.
Chervil does not transplant well.
Tip: Cutting leaves frequently and growing in semi-shade helps to prevent flowering.
