Type: Tender Perennial
Approximate height: 20 - 30 cm

Also known as East-Indian lemongrass or Malabar, this variety has a strong scent and flavour.
It is best used fresh and the base of the stems can be chopped and used in curries or added to sauces to give a citrusy flavour. The leaves can also be used to make a tea.
To harvest, cut entire stems as needed, trim off the leaves and use the lower 8 to 10 cm.
Best treated as a houseplant although it can be placed outside in the warm summer months and brought back inside in early autumn.
