Bird's Foot Trefoil is a hardy wildflower with yellow pea type flowers and red tinged buds which is also known as Eggs and Bacon, Butter-jags, Cat in Clover, Crowtoes and Bloomfel.

In the wild it prefers well-drained grassy places and can be grown in lawns provided the grass is only given a “high cut” during the flowering season.

It is also perfectly at home in a flower bed and is a very good plant for hanging baskets where it will drape over the sides.

An important pollen source for bees and is also very useful for both butterflies and moths.
